This lot is produced by the Plandas farmers network in collaboration with approximately 175 smallholder farming families. Since 2019, Cofinet has supported these producers with technical guidance on natural processing, resulting in a gradual increase in consistency and quality across their natural lots.
The coffee is sourced from Planadas, Tolima, one of Colombia’s most productive coffee-growing regions, with a strong presence in national quality competitions. The region’s combination of altitude (1500–2150 masl), volcanic ash soils, and stable climate conditions provides an ideal environment for structured and expressive cup profiles.
Cherries are processed using the natural method and dried on raised beds or concrete patios under close supervision from the quality control team. The drying process is carefully managed to achieve uniform moisture content, typically around 11%, ensuring stability and clarity in the final cup.
This lot consists of mixed Colombian varieties grown under consistent rainfall patterns (1700–2000 mm annually) and moderate temperatures (15–27°C), contributing to balanced development during maturation.
In the cup, the profile presents layered fruit characteristics such as passion fruit and orange, supported by wine-like fermentation notes and a chocolate-driven sweetness with a clean finish.
