The Story

A classic Brazilian profile from Minas Gerais, Serra Negra represents the comforting and dependable character that has made Brazilian coffees a staple in blends and single origins alike. Grown at elevations of 750–1100 MASL and naturally processed, this coffee brings together several traditional Brazilian varieties including Bourbon, Yellow Bourbon, Catuaí, Typica and others.

In the cup, expect a rich and approachable profile with graham cracker sweetness, toasted nuttiness, mellow citrus zest, and subtle lemon-like brightness. The acidity is soft and rounded, offering a gentle tartness that lifts the cup without overpowering it. A heavy, syrupy body creates structure and balance while maintaining an easy-drinking character.

This coffee performs exceptionally well across different brew methods:

For Espresso:

Delivers a creamy body with notes of milk chocolate, graham cracker, roasted nuts, and soft citrus brightness, creating a balanced and comforting shot with enough complexity to stand on its own or pair beautifully with milk.

For Filter:

Shows a cleaner expression where the fresh citrus zest and delicate sweetness become more pronounced, while still maintaining the warm nutty foundation and smooth mouthfeel Brazilian coffees are known for.

A versatile coffee that works equally well as a dependable blend component or as a stand-alone offering, combining familiarity with enough brightness and character to stay interesting.
