This lot comes from producer Tadese Teko, who farms in the highlands of Shale village near Worka town in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Tadese tends to 8 hectares of land, a significant size in a region where the average farm is just 4 hectares. With coffee as his livelihood, Tadese supports his family and ensures that his nine children are able to attend school through the income his farm provides.
Cultivated in the renowned Gedeo Zone, Gedeb district, this washed Yirgacheffe showcases everything we love about southern Ethiopian coffees: a bright, lively acidity, delicate florals, and layered sweetness. Elegant and expressive, it shines as a filter brew but also offers a beautiful, nuanced profile when prepared as espresso.
