Finca Montes Urales is a family-owned farm in El Salvador’s Apaneca-Ilamatepec region, an area famous for rich volcanic soils and an ideal coffee-growing climate. The Ramirez Smith family has owned the farm since 1969, and today it continues to be managed with the same multi-generational care and pride.
The farm sits at around 1,400 meters above sea level, where cooler temperatures slow cherry maturation and help develop greater sweetness and complexity in the cup. Their primary variety, Pacas, a Bourbon mutation known for excellent cup quality reflects the farm’s focus on flavor clarity and quality.
Pacas is a Bourbon mutation valued for its compact growth and sweet, complex cup profile, often showing caramel sweetness, citrus, and floral notes. Anacafé 14 is a rust-resistant Guatemalan hybrid bred for productivity and resilience, typically offering a clean, balanced profile with chocolate and caramel tones but usually less complexity than Pacas. With this coffee, you can expect notes of caramel, honey, and chocolate sweetness.
