The Story

Finca Carolina is a 6-hectare farm owned by Fausto Romo, with 3 hectares dedicated to coffee production. Fausto attributes much of his success to the Sidra variety, which thrives in his region of Ecuador. He’s deeply passionate about the flavour and aroma Sidra produces, often saying it feels perfectly suited to its environment here. Today, the farm stands as a reflection of that belief and the care put into every stage of growing.

Fausto’s journey into coffee began after years of dairy farming, encouraged by his uncle Olmedo Romo to plant Sidra. Making the switch required sacrifice, selling livestock and investing patiently for two years; but once the coffee trees began to produce, stability followed. Fausto describes the flowering season as especially rewarding, with aromas carrying through the air and bees filling the farm
