Gilmer Mejia manages Finca Ecológica Agua Colorada, a stunning farm his father acquired in 1990 for coffee cultivation. The 7-hectare plot includes 4 hectares of coffee plants. All of Gilmer’s coffee is handpicked when fully ripe under the shade of wild trees.
Gilmer, a dedicated and innovative producer, prioritizes quality in every aspect of his farm, from management practices to the final taste of the coffee. He uses organic fertilizers like compost, avoids herbicides, and is deeply passionate about delivering exceptional coffee to his customers.
Finca Ecologica is a family-run business, with all farm operations managed by the family, from harvesting to processing. His father, mother, and three siblings reside in a humble wooden house adjacent to the farm.
Beside the house are all the essential processing equipment needed for float- sorting, depulping, fermenting, washing, and drying the freshly harvested coffee cherries.
