This coffee is sourced from a small mill located in the Pegasing district within the renowned Aceh region of Sumatra. The mill is managed by Cup of Excellence winner Asman Arianto.
The Asman Gayo mill collaborates with several small-scale coffee farmers from the Pantan Musara villages, who have faced significant challenges in recent years due to a natural disaster that displaced them from their homes and land. These farmers have since rebuilt their lives and shifted their focus towards coffee cultivation.
Distinct from the majority of coffee processing facilities in Sumatra, this mill specializes in producing both Washed and Natural coffees. The commitment to quality and sustainability at the Asman Gayo mill not only supports the local economy but also highlights the resilience of the community as they adapt to new agricultural practices in the wake of adversity.
This coffee is very sweet with candy like flavours and subtle dark chocolate. We really enjoy this coffee on espresso, pour over and aeropress.
