Puerta Verde has been under the leadership of Ricardo Zelaya's team since 1999. Over the years, the farm has been owned and operated by four generations of coffee growers who are dedicated to producing high-quality coffee and preserving the environment.
Located in the Valley of Panchoy in Antigua Guatemala, Puerta Verde sits at an altitude of 1,520m. The name of the farm is derived from a green gate that has always protected its fertile soil, which contributes to the cultivation of some of the finest coffee in the region.
Under Ricardo's guidance, the entire farm underwent a renewal process to replace older coffee trees. This involved planting new varieties, adopting modern agronomic practices, and making significant changes to the way coffee was produced, harvested, and processed. Ricardo, a fourth-generation coffee producer from the Zelaya family, has been dedicated to innovation and adaptation, ensuring excellence at every stage of the coffee production chain.
